What went well:

One thing that went well with my project was the amount of information I could select. A lot of text I could pull from the old website, and rewrite for clarity. This was good because I know how to edit and format, but was unsure of the tone that they wanted to take. So, a lot of my work was revising and updating, which made it so that I could polish pages much faster.

What I should have done differently:

The main flaw with my internship project is that I should have started it sooner. I didn’t really start working on it until I think late week two or early week three. This became an issue because my mentors are constantly busy and didn’t always have time to sit down with me and let me know what content to include on the website. This wasn’t exactly ideal because they’ve fought many, many cases, most of which were fought before I was interning here. For example, they wanted me to put up a page about the California wildfires, a devastating event that I had little knowledge of because at that point in my life I was enrolled in kindergarten. When they were free, though, it was easy to ask how to proceed and then work on the things that needed to be done.

What stands out to me:

One thing that stood out to me was the format of the website. The shift from the old website (which was functional but had more content then clarity) to the new website was a nice change. The new website is a lot crisper than the old one, and it’s very easy to work with.
